Product Cleaning Instructions
Proper cleaning and maintenance are essential to ensure the safety, performance, and long life of your surgical and dental instruments. Please follow the steps below carefully before sterilization and reuse.
1. Initial Rinse
Immediately after use, rinse instruments under warm running water to remove all visible blood, debris, and residues.
Avoid letting organic material dry on the surface — dried contaminants can be difficult to remove and may damage the instrument.
2. Pre-Cleaning
Soak the instruments in an enzymatic or neutral pH cleaning solution for 10–15 minutes.
Use only approved cleaning agents — avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or corrosive detergents, as these can damage stainless steel surfaces.
3. Manual Cleaning
Use a soft nylon brush or non-abrasive cloth to gently clean all surfaces, paying special attention to joints, hinges, and serrated areas.
Never use metal brushes or scouring pads — they can scratch and weaken the instrument’s finish.
4. Ultrasonic Cleaning (Recommended)
Place instruments in an ultrasonic cleaner filled with a suitable cleaning solution.
Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for time and temperature (usually 5–10 minutes).
After cleaning, rinse thoroughly with distilled or deionized water.
5. Inspection
Check each instrument carefully for cleanliness, damage, corrosion, or loose joints.
Make sure all moving parts operate smoothly.
Remove any instrument showing signs of wear or damage from service immediately.
6. Drying
Dry instruments completely using a lint-free cloth or medical-grade compressed air.
Avoid air-drying on open surfaces, as it may lead to water spots or contamination.
7. Lubrication
Apply a medical-grade instrument lubricant (milk) to hinged or moving parts after cleaning and before sterilization.
Do not use industrial or household oils.
8. Sterilization
Follow standard autoclave (steam sterilization) procedures.
Make sure instruments are fully dry and properly wrapped before placing them in the autoclave.
Avoid overloading the chamber to ensure proper steam penetration.
9. Storage
Store clean and sterilized instruments in a dry, dust-free, and temperature-controlled environment.
Always handle with clean gloves and avoid direct contact with contaminated surfaces.
Important Notes
Always follow your clinic’s infection-control policy and local regulations.
Never mix stainless steel with carbon steel instruments in the same cleaning cycle — it can cause corrosion.
Regularly train staff on proper handling and cleaning techniques to maintain product longevity
These cleaning and maintenance steps may not apply to all instruments. Always refer to the specific product’s instructions for detailed care guidelines.
